Star Of India is by far my favorite Athens restaurant. Let’s start first with the staff. They are always friendly, more than willing to answer questions and make suggestions, and attentive to refilling water or bringing whatever is needed. It is always clean and the decor is attractive. The food is always fresh and they have a wide variety of options on the menu. They will make the food as mild or spicy as requested. The lunch buffet has a good variety and is refreshed regularly, but since I like extra spice I normally order from the menu to have it made that way!In summary, I would highly recommend Star of India for lunch or dinner. It is good for solo meals, couples or families.

Overall, it was a great experience! Had never tried Indian food before and was very happy with both the food and service! I would recommend to a friend that is looking to try something different in the Athens area!

My go-to place in town for a great Indian buffet where I can sit and visit with friends in a quiet setting. I have been a regular here since it opened about 15 years ago! Great vegetarian options. Love the Chana Masala!

6-13-20 Our family was finally able to have a sit down dinner together. The food on the menu was amazing, but the food that was made by request was divine. The owners were so accommodating and personable. The whole experience was fun and delicious. Our family travels 40 minutes to get the best Indian food around. Thank you Star of India!

The food and service was absolutely amazing! True authentic Indian food and plenty of it! Only complaint I had was finding a parking spot as it is street parking only. Will definitely be coming back here when we are back in the area!

Delicious! I've eaten at a good bit of the mom and pop restaraunts out here, but star of India takes the cake.Lamb kurma was tender, flavorful. Rice was cooked correctly. The paneer naan has the perfect texture and tear to it. The person who took my order and was in the lobby was very friendly (I assume the owner). They were even nice enough to throw in a free dessert for me.I could taste the love in all of it. You guys rock.

Had a wonderful experience and amazing food at the Star of India! I’ve lived in Athens for three and just now found the gem. If you’re looking for authentic Indian food, full of flavor / spices and at a great price - you need to come to Star of India! I wish I had tried this place sooner and will be a frequent customer!

Star of India is fantastic! The staff is so friendly and they go the extra mile to make their customers feel welcome and very well-attended. The food quality and flavors are phenomenal. My husband and I always get the “for two” meal and it is an excellent variety of dishes for a great price. Highly recommend!

Where do I start about The star of India? First off my family and I have been eating here for years. We always have the buffet because it's always fresh and delicious and definitely worth the money! Besides you cant go wrong with all you can eat kheer!! The family that runs this place is by far the sweetest and kindest family in athens and it shows in their amazing food. I for the first time ordered from the menu this afternoon with my daughter and was delightfully pleased with my meal. Makhani chicken or Butter chicken is something I had never tried before And I'm telling you I cant wait to have it again! The star of India is definitely a star in athens and i cant begin to tell you how authentic and delicious it is. You'll just have to try it for yourselves!! Thanku star of india!

I've always enjoyed Star of India. The lunch buffet has for many years been a staple for my family. It was always good, solid Indian food. Several months back, however, the son-in-law and daughter took over the operation and the food has gone from good to outstanding. If you've been here before and were underwhelmed, you should definitely try it again!

I had dinner at Star of India for the first time yesterday and very much enjoyed it. The appearance of the restaurant is modest—but the food was EXCELLENT. The taste and flavor of the food was great, the ingredients were high quality, and I enjoyed my dinner very much. The service was also fantastic. The gentleman who served us (who I suspect might have been the owner, but I'm not positive) was super friendly and attentive to our needs. Yesterday was my first visit, but I'll definitely be returning soon.

Star of India is my favorite restaurant in Athens! They have great, authentic Indian food and the lunch buffet cannot be beat for both the quality and the price. You could go every day for a week and never have the same meal twice. Highly recommended!

The staff here are so accommodating and pleasant! The food is especially amazing and has just the right amount of heat and flavor. The sides of authentic Indian bread and rice were stellar as well. Side note: my friend that I went with said "that rice pudding changed my life"Definitely would recommend!!

A perfect family-run Indian restaurant. The staff is one of the most friendly I have ever had the pleasure to encounter. They have quick service and the food is phenomenal. There was a lot of flavor in each bite and when i was describing to them how I liked my food cooked, they cooked it perfectly. 100% recommended and definitely coming back.

Star of India has some of the best Indian food we have ever had! The owners are very friendly and quick to make sure you are a happy customer. If you love Indian food this is the place for you! We tried their Rohan Josh and their Palak Paneer along with naan and Indian tea and we were very very pleased with our meal! We will for sure be back for more!
